Axe Throwing Event 2019
Last week, the OXA held its first ever axe throwing event. Approx. 40 members and their guests arrived at BATL Axe Throwing on Lancaster Road to participate in the event.
After signing in, participants enjoyed a delicious hot and cold sandwich buffet provided by Ottawa Events Catering while also practicing their axe throwing. During the tournament portion of the evening, each person threw several rounds against their fellow competitors until there were only two competitors left. The final showdown to determine the champion saw Jason Applejohn of the green team, throwing against Paz Blundell of the purple team.
Congratulations to the 2019 OXA Axe Throwing Champion… PAZ BLUNDELL!

Annual Golf Tournament 2016
On Thursday, August 25, the OXA held their Annual Golf Tournament at Emerald Links Golf & Country Club.
The rain forecast for the day finished up early so everyone was able to enjoy a great event. Participants arrived at the course for the 11:30am registration and then enjoyed a tasty BBQ lunch before heading out on the course for a 1:00pm shotgun start.
Forty-eight golfers came out to take participate in the fun on the course despite the heat and humidity. This year’s event had participants trying to snag the seemingly elusive hole-in-one at not only one, but two holes on the challenging course.
After golf, everyone returned to the clubhouse for appetizers, networking, a delicious chicken and rib dinner and lots of prizes.
This year’s event was another overwhelming success thanks to our sponsors, prize donors and participants.
We hope to see you out next year!
